Ideal for
Theses classes are an ideal way for anybody aged 45+ looking to make those first steps towards a more active lifestyle in a paced, adaptable and supportive setting.
Su will help you get the best out of your workout with 1:1 coaching, up-tempo music and sections of bodyweight exercises to complement the rowing stoke or to reach the 15% of muscles that rowing doesn't.
What to expect
Prepare to fall in love with a new sport that's way more doable than you might think! Su, an experienced rowing coach and personal trainer will teach you proper rowing technique, the same as if you were to row on the water. There will be a strong focus on posture and core engagement and a gradual build of cardiovascular fitness.
Sections on the rowing machine will be broken up with bodyweight exercises to help strengthen rowing specific muscles or to reach the other 15% of muscles that rowing doesn't. Classes are adaptable to different goals but and always aim to be fun, helped along by the chance for a good chat over refreshments after the class.
“I have always been very active enjoying over the years a variety of physical activities playing football at a professional club, squash, and cycling. But as the years progressed I needed something that provided a whole body exercise. 18 months ago I found indoor rowing fitted the bill. However, with ageing limbs I needed to row correctly not as experienced in a gym. At Kingston rowing club Susan introduced me to the correct indoor rowing technique but more importantly her classes are tailored to meet the aspirations of each individual in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.”
